20 years of Baltic Sail are celebrated with several international sailing trips. The Baltic Sea became a sea of traditional sailors since 1996, when Baltic Sail was founded. Its 20th anniversary will be celebrated with numerous international sailing trips.

Starting June 26th 2016 schooner „Santa Barbara Anna“ from Rostock will attend 20. Sail Gdansk (30.06.-03.07.) Sailors are welcome aboard! A whole class already booked a trip from Gdansk to Rostock on board of clipper „Johann Smidt“. The sailing trip from Rostock to Gdansk still needs another class, group or some individual bookings. Nikolaus Kern from CLIPPER DJS explains: „We currently have 26 berths free!“

Gdansk is one of the oldest cities at the Baltic coastline with a beautiful harbor and many lively maritime traditions. Highlight of this years sailing event will be the sportive Baltic Sail Nations Cup and a huge final parade of all participating ships.

„Days of the Sea“ in Szczecin (10.-12.06.) can be reached by a traditional sailing ship as well. From Greifswald, schooner-brigg „Greif“, that used to be the only offshore sailing ship of former GDR, named „Wilhelm Pieck“, will sail towards Szczecin. Despite several renovations and modernizations, the schooner has retained its original character. On the trip to Szczecin everyone will get to know the ship and be able to celebrate in beautiful port cities, with boat parades, carnivals, concerts and fireworks.

„To honor 20 years of Baltic Sail we offer more international multi-day trips starting or ending in Rostock“, says Mandy Lange from the Tall-Ship Booking Office of Hanse Sail Association. They do recommend trips on „Albert Johannes“ to Swinoujscie (Poland), on „Eye of the wind“ to Copenhagen (Denmark), on „Abel Tasman“ from Brest (France) to Rostock or onboard of „Roald Amundsen“ from Karlskrona (Sweden) or Klaipeda (Lithuania) to Rostock.

Even Hanse Sail event offers special opportunities to sail internationally. At the 8th Haikutter regatta for example participants will travel in the morning by ferry to Denmark and sail aruise-in-company-regatta and in familiar atmosphere back to Rostock.
